The specifications of factory settings seem flase because of the amazing power this laoptop as displayed. The second time i ran this test, i had defragmented my hard drive.

8/25/2009 4:26:03 AM Nice looking system. Fast performance. CPU in this model is better than comparable, and even more current systems. CPU has a thermal wattage rating of 25, vs. 35 and higher for some other processors. Expanadable to 8GB RAM. Integrated graphics (Intel 4500) keep the system running cooler, and don't drain battery as much as dedicated graphics chips. The notebook is very solidly built with firm plastics throughout, and almost no flexing of the housing. The silver keyboard is easier to see in low light conditions than the black keyboards on other models, although it would be nice if it was backlit, however most notebook keyboards are not. The touch sensitive backlit multimedia controls are attractive, and work well. The keyboard is easy to use, and feels firm and provides good feedback when typing. Most of the LED lights on the system are a nice white color, with the wireless network light being a nice blue color when enabled. Red is used for the mute and wireless disabled status. The touchpad also works well, despite being coated with a different material than many other touchpads. The 4 provided USB ports are plenty, and one USB is a shared eSATA port for connecting external hard drives. A dedicated docking station port is also included. The dual Altec Lansing speakers provide very clear and surprisingly loud sound for radio, TV, and even music, and this notebook even comes with a small remote control which fits into the card reader slot on the site of the system when not in use. The notebook is fairly light and easy to carry around. Overall, I am extremely happy with this system.

12/15/2017 6:20:20 PM On 12-4-2017 the Windows 10 program on this PC locked up. It was so corrupted I took it to a local shop. The gentleman who worked on the PC could not fix Win 10...so he reinstalled Windows Vista, which came with the PC. The machine is 11 years old so I wasn't surprised, although I was not happy about it. I will be purching a new desktop in the near future.

Sometime I will hit a letter 2 or 3 times before it appears. HP technical support has been of no help (3 calls). HP sent an Tec. to our house and he replaced the keyboard. Same problem with the new keyboard. Tec said that it may be an issue with Vista?????
