7/10/2014 10:33:38 AM I get a lot of "not responding". This is too slow for a 64 bit processing unit. When a program opens it is very slow, as if it is waiting to free up memory to allow operations unique to that program. After initial operation of program and side activities, the process runs more smoothly. I said "no" to frequent lockups because it isn't "frequent". But there are lockups in running programs and they have to be halted by "control alt delete" and then started over again. At some point I get fed up with the general operation and reboot the computer, which improves matters for a short while. Another factor is that Windows 8 was installed on a Windows 7 computer and not all features and functions are what they should be. There's been the temptation to restore the computer back to factory, but the motivation to do so hasn't caused that to occur.
