7/28/2010 4:05:41 PM It has been an excellent computor and is still doing well. Over the years there have been error problems that caused me grief, but once resolved, all was good again. Right now I can't seem to figure out why the CD Writer or E drive won't "write" the Quickbook files, but I will work on solving the problem. I would recommend Dell as a quality computer to anyone. My last purchase was a HP laptop, because Staples didn't carry Dell laptops at that time.

7/8/2010 6:45:35 PM PCMatic just destroyed my wireless connection -- an attempt to install a new driver seems to have failed, and I cannot even access the wireless card to troubleshoot it. Since loading and running PCMatic, boot speed -- the time from logon to the ability to open a brower -- has doubled to about 6 minutes. Thanks a lot.

6/8/2012 1:17:41 PM I have had no major problems with it that PC Pitstop could not fix. It does run slowly, but only occasionally. Rarely locks up. Not positive about the date I purchased it, but it was a used computer when I bought it.

7/8/2010 7:24:37 PM Ran PCMatic to cure slow boots. It reported I needed a new driver for the DLink Airplus Xtreme G DWL-G520 wireless card. I OK'd that by clicking 'Fix All.' Rebooted; machine came back up with wireless card invisible and a yellow exclamation point on its icon in the device manager. Have been unable to restore wireless functionality.

As we are using this to keep in touch with family would this be solely down to our broadband provider to rectify? We are on Option 2 with BT and feel speeds should be a bit quicker than at present

I WOULD BE A LOT HAPPIER WITH DELL IF THEY HAD DESIGNED IT TO ALLOW ME AT LEAST ONE GOOD SIZE MEMORY UPGRADE, THEN THE HD AND PROCESSOR WOULD HAVE LET ME USE IT LONGER OR AT LEAST DONATE IT TO A SENIORS GROUP.

The processor has been upgraded to a Pentium 4. 3.0 hyperthreaded.Memory upgraded to 2.0gbs. with Nvidia 7600 video w/512 onboard memory. 3 harddrives. 2 of which are SATA and 1 is an IDE, totalling over 400gbs. It is faster than a lot of dual cores. It multi-tasks very well. I run windows 7 ultimate. which at the best has only rated my computer at 4.9 on the windows experience index. I am happy with this computer.

But recently has gotten very troublesome. It is especially a problem with IE. I am using Firefox for some uses and Safari for others. IE keeps freezing/locking programs.
