Dell's Studio desktop family is a mid-range system which falls between the Inspiron line and the high-end XPS line. It should be considered a general purpose, Media type PC. 8/19/2011 11:33:37 PM Had the Hard Drive replaced last year, while still under warranty. Currently out of warranty. No major problems that I know of. Recently had the router replaced during an upgrade to 15mips from 5mips. Need to verify that the upgrade is affective.

I am very please with the performance of this computer as it does exactly what I want it to do and offers help information that is useful. I also have exteded warranty on all parts and systems on this computer.

12/5/2009 1:03:34 PM the computer I am using is a Dell Studio. It is a replacement computer because the Dell I had died and it was under extended warranty. I have been having lots of problems with my printer pipeline not working. I never had this problem with Windows XP but this Windows Vista gives me a lot of problems. I can't even update my system.

4/23/2010 12:54:40 PM I have now gotten use to using this new computer. It's Great, very easy to use and have not had too much problem with getting the programs I wanted to keep from my old computer, most worked fine after transfered using the PC Mover Professional and PC Sync. The few I had problems with have been solved with a call to the technical support team of that particular program. I am sure I will be adding programs in the future but they should not be a problem. Excellent Computer!

Don't remember when it was purchased, my answer to the question below is just a guess, but Windows 7 was the latest and greatest OS at the time I purchased it. It's consistently been more dependable that our newer computer that has Windows 10 on it. During the past couple of weeks it has locked up a few times. I'm hoping PC MATIC helps resolve this issue.

8/20/2021 2:27:08 PM I just got it a couple of weeks ago, a friend gave it to me, I've not used it much to find out a lot about it. The question of lock up- it won't open, I need to turn it off and then on agin to log in often-thou it's not duing it all the time as it did when I first got it. I don't know when purchased, but I guess 5+/- years ago.

8/26/2011 1:44:40 AM Sometimes, when this computer reboots it does not load and has to be hard shutdown and rebooted again and again. It has done this since we bought it. We had an engineer look at it and he could not figure out why. A hard drive has gone bad on this system in the past as well.

Now I get a pop up telling me that my display driver quit working, and my screen goes black for a few seconds. However the display driver they are talking about is for Windows Vista, I am running Windows 7.

4/10/2010 9:29:42 AM Generally satisfied, but from time to time I get messages: "[application] HAS STOPPED WORKING" where [application] is often Firefox. Possibly a Firefox 3.6 bug ?? Have also had a couple of automatic reboots while the PC has been idle and unattended, but not enough to classify as frequent. Possibly an ISP problem ?? Web page loading was very slow in both Firefox 3.6 and IE8 during January and February, but this seems to have corrected itself.

5/5/2010 2:22:12 PM I'm getting internet explorer window popping up on me that I didn't ask for like x rated sites. I hear audio playing despite me shutting down all internet explorers. I alway have to restart to resolve that for it to only happen again.

5/29/2010 11:43:04 AM You tube and other streaming stops every 2 or 3 sec to stream again. I give up and do not listen to the rest of it, the radio sereaming works well. The printer does not print when I try to download a pdf file. It won't print at all and the printer refuses to print anything else until I reboot the PC, then it might print it or it might not

6/23/2016 8:25:07 AM I'm not sure how to respond to the above...the PC has it's problems..slow to boot..also, maddening turns itself off when I'm not looking..annoying since I have to boot up again and this is slow..one way I have combatted this is to play music in the background...it SEEMS as if the computer is busy it won't shut itself off...
